2016 has been another record year . . . there were 1759 votes cast: which was 250 more than last year.  The votes were spread across 41 businesses and 53 individuals within these businesses.  The Council, the Hub, the girls in the Commonwealth Bank tripled their votes this year; the Post Office, including the local “postie” who was recognised for delivering straight to the door in particularly bad weather: and, the Heritage Isle Credit Union again all received recognition – in a positive way – for their customer service.  The Low Head Tourist Park, Kaizen Hair (under new ownership), the Wharfe Cafe, the newly formed RSL Sub-Branch, NineDot construction, G.T Glass Supplies, ST Vinnieís and the Chinese Dragon ñ were all recognised by their customers for the first time this year: so the public continues to cast a wider net in recognising not only the higher profile main street businesses but also the newer, and, arguably the less visible ones.  Thanks to our terrific sponsors, Tamar FM for their constant support in promoting the Business Excellence Awards program, thanks to the talented young ladies from Port Dalrymple High School who sing throughout the awards presentation evening, accompanied by their music teacher and parents.

Standards of entries, for the submission categories, was again very high; several new businesses entered for the first time and each category was very tightly contested.
